Forget all and believe
tapping the ceramic plug of
smelter back of the brain
hits you a hot slug running
gravid as hogback-heave
forest shook sheaves shock
itself as torn as thunder
its clouds as raggy, lumber
coming-on blacker stooks
showers of shag; a hundred
tons in a heap - blazoned
of ore haemetite; more
magnetite but scored sides
avalanching kidney-ore
hooded monks loom hillfog
hunchback ‘fifties hikers in oilskins
against the haar, the rolling fret
in from the sea, sudden storm
lies, gross; slow as cautious -
maybe wise, but still doubtful.
looking at one, I am surrounded
horns small but sickles inturned
for close-work legions of gladius
blued-iron, precise, can open
a belly, or chip snip a tendon
hogstuck tusks, but black and red
cave walls alive or dead, but talons
tailed bulls turn, truncating radius.
