Discuss the needs of refugees,
The unemployed, the underclass;
The homeless, rootless…please don’t ask!
There’s cut-price croissants staving off
The hunger pains and hacking cough,
And no one dares to break the mould
And no one cares it’s all been sold.
But still they natter. Scoring points.
Inspected, rejected, aching joints,
A cutting swipe, a winning pun;
It’s over now, a job well done.
