With a line of thought from here
a net was cast to map the globe,
where the observances of stargazers
set a standard for the times.
Now, each sunset, the green ray slicing North
cheese-wires our Red Windsor sky
to hemispheres.
We’ve come ashore in the Near East,
settling three hundred yards into the Orient.
And you? From light years beyond the Occident
you’re growing like a comet.
These lines, guides and aids to navigation,
are divides of the imagination
but the world is one.
Cross the Meridian to us. Welcome.
