Earthquake
Little china donkey
smashed against cupboard
and books have wings
pillows, sheets ripped
and flung, child
whose arms are crushed
by a skyscraper
little child
bruises on arms
arms pinched
bruises getting blacker
feet bumping on stairs
broken child
child dumped outside
back door
just wearing
her blue night-dress
bare legs
up to the knees in snow.
