ours

teacher"

pulled curtains to keep death in
piled cotton to keep dirt out / in
silent doctors, cold(ing) skins
scurrying nurses, scolding kins,

one teary wife, booking an appointment
with fate
two teenage daughters, looking
for Father where they left him
'three' parts of Father - spirit, soul, body
parting ways for ever
four doctors moving
on to the next patient
five bedsore bedmates wondering
who's next?
six minutes
past noon
7-Up bottle
half-empty at the bedside
hate doctors
they deserve it
nine-
teenth december, virgin mary's in labour...
