Where Every Entrance Requires an Absence
At the heart of the sun lies your face
A face that changes as the sun changes
Watching it sink below the horizon
Watching it casting shadows in this place
Where we now breath in unison
A valediction an approach to limitation
To the facelessness of these fields
In this snow as it melts into my hand
In this world so incomplete as it travels
Faster than the speed of light clung to
Yet not even realising we cling
Not even realising our fingers are sore
And our wrists and our shoulders ache
In this place where everything is provisional
Where every entrance requires an absence
'In petty tyrants perpetual war'
In these ruins
In these words we use
In this uncertainty of love yet listen
I can make my voice disappear.
