Ben Day dots are employed to print
cheap comics, magazines and are used effectively
in this painting by Lichtenstein
where leaves are punished on the ground
and there’s a couple sitting in a car,
a car that’s still running in and
should stay below 30 but he’s going
much faster and the road keeps twisting;
now they argue, pass a flight of
birds, hear Elvis on the radio, want
to say something to each other about
how to make things better but they can’t
and have to wait until their next reincarnation.
