I was eleven
we got home from the party on the first
and I crawled under the warm cover
caught the green shadows
spelt shit upside down
turned bed to an alien cave
and there it was
eleven seconds and eleven minutes past one on the first of the first
a miracle.
Later, he invited me up for coffee
insisted we needed to compare lecture notes
on the Cenomanian Transgression
and he only had one chair
suggested a cosy place to revise.
It was something gone two as I crept out
fixed hair in the dim-lit park
noticed the glow on my face
which did not emit for long;
cheap crap the bloke at the station said
he’d give me one with a tank of Green.
