The Bird was only a Bird
The bird said, ‘What a smell!
What a sun!
Ah, spring has come,
and I will go looking for my mate.’
The bird flew from the edge of the veranda,
The bird flew like a message and was gone.
The bird was small.
The bird did not think.
The bird did not read the newspapers.
The bird was not in debt.
The bird did not know the people.
The bird flew in the air,
flew over the traffic lights,
flew in the heights of ignorance
and frantically experienced
the blue moments.
The bird,
oh the bird was only a bird.
