Love Poem: Final Demand
So. Where is it then?
The heartfelt work that incontestably prove
-s your actual feelings for me, or your love,
whichever phrase comes close.
You say that it's a matter of ill-luck, some strange malaise,
blame it on writer's block,
lack
of a chaise-longue or inspiration. Lack of inspiration?
Look at the reams of stuff that Aragon
wrote for Elsa.
Shakespeare for The Dark Lady Of The Sonnet.
And you? Not a jot, a blip a couplet or a haiku.
Trouble is your arrogant,
so high up your own sycamore that you never look elsewhere.
But I'm no prop, no part-time Muse.
So fuck you,
Jacko.
Have it on my desk by 10.00 a.m. tomorrow
or the deal's off. At least two pages long. Handwritten.
Oh yes, and sign it.
