Stand in the Light so I Can See You
Who are you and what do you want?
One of my ex-pupils come to see me?
Not Frisby - no, that wasn’t the name -
Finchley? Findlay? Can’t remember.
Whatever it was, you remind me of him.
He always used to sit at the back of the class
And never volunteered to answer a question.
You’re not a nurse or a doctor, I know them all.
They don’t usually let visitors in this late.
Have you got permission from the Matron?
Glad you weren’t here six months ago
At my hundredth birthday. It was some party,
Not in your line, by the look of things.
For God’s sake say something, whoever you are,
Don’t just skulk in the corner, in the shadows.
Cat got your tongue? Who are you?
