the jaded but jocular man
with a belly hanging waterfalls
and a crested tie strapped under blazer
stands sipping a sweating Castle lager.
He sees a face and calls 'Jannie' and,
drinking to Boks and 'damn these blacks,'
he stumbles into the past,
while outside black faces laugh and clatter for they know;
"The first shall be last, and the last shall be first."
