Trucks in the Bus Lane
Last fall I put
daffodil bulbs in the bus lane,
hoping careful drivers
would gently veer in March.
I saw thousands flap
their yellow heads in a flurry,
all over the city,
each time a bus passed.
That was the plan.
But ferry bound truckers
mashed to pulp
the little, cyclists left.
