Respect
Rain drizzled old paving stones,
Rusted iron girders thrusted through broken roofs
Fallen in disrepair.
Now tufts of grass grow, hiding polished stone
Where once men's feet walked away the grime.
Water droplets collect in pools that reflect
Tall walls and windows like prisons –
Once housing machine and men the same –
Now jagged, broken and dampened by the rain.
