Out
The light craft had been buzzing past all day,
low in the water and built for speed.
From the crown of the fourteenth bridge
the views were endless.
Blue infinities where everything gave way.
She guessed there were risks in small indulgences.
Even so, she was glad to be out,
The water pouring back beneath her feet,
The child beginning to move,
Everything at blood heat.
