Motorcycle Club Dinner
The night before they spoke

at the end of Lensfield Road)

at a restaurant attacked
with bombs tied to the fence
which spewed fire through
the room full of scrambling
fanatics. Twelve people
died at the motorcycle
club dinner, in the
blast or smoke or flames.

He pressed coins until distance
broke her voice; consumed,
unable to resist
imagining. Invalid
appeals faltered between them, she
lost in the stuttering
of flashed lights and infectious cries.
