He knows now what lies beyond the mountains
whose challenge beckoned on
to climb & climb
pit wits against rock ice & snow,
to reach the summit
know the splendour of the wider view;
new vistas of peak on peak stretching to infinity
beneath the vastness of the sky
where the winds of heaven harp their endless song.
He has reached the heights
stepped into the fathomless void
moved on to yet more glory
sees the face of God.
