Editorial

Many poetry magazines claim to be publishing the best of contemporary poetry. We do not make this claim, because it is ridiculous. For one thing, what is best is a matter of opinion and, for another, the claim assumes you have seen all the poetry available and, of course, all the magazines making the claim would be publishing the same poems. So we offer our contribution to the poetry world knowing only that we have a good and interesting selection of poems for you to read and confident that you will enjoy them. Our hope is that you will find our magazine excellent and, if you do not already do so, you will decide to subscribe and persuade your poetry loving friends to do so, too.  Thanks to all of you who have sent us poems. If we have not used your work, please do not think of it as a rejection. We are sorry that as volunteer, spare time editors, we are not able as a rule to comment on work sent to us. To make any useful comment would require a great deal of time and thought, and might still be presumptuous. Finally let us make the request we always make, that you read the poems with an open mind and a generous heart.
