Editorial/Sales Pitch
Nice to be back in the saddle, as Lester might have said. Hope you enjoyed Keith Jafrate’s issue as much as we did. Keith is a fine poet in his own right and if you don’t know his work, you might contact Slow Dancer to get some.
For purely aesthetic reasons, with this issue we return to our saddle-stitched A5 format. Those in the know may recognise a lot of Doncaster names here. No co-incidence that I’ve just finished working there. I’d like to take this opportunity to bore our subscribers by thanking everyone at Central library, and particularly the writers in the area, who’ve made my stay so enjoyable and worthwhile.
Smith/Doorstop, our publishing empire, is just bringing out pamphlets by Ann Dancy and Sheila North, part-funded by Doncaster MBC. If you like their work in this issue, make my decade by ordering copies (£1.50, post-free). Other volumes in this series are planned. I may be wrong, but there’s some fine writing going on up here. Our many southern readers should not despair, however. As I never tire of saying, The North is not just for Northerners: do send us your poems, stories, artwork and articles.
