Haiku Haibun: A Walk to the Shop
May evening leaving the blackbird’s song in my room
crossing the green I can’t help treading on daisies
in a front garden the same old rusty caravan
the garden where nothing grows but a single tulip
avoiding the drain-cover that always bangs
at the base of a tree cracks in the asphalt
scattered on the path brightly-coloured sweets
all those spots ground-in chewing gum
in the concrete driveway big American cars
pretty garden I stare at the daisy-strewn lawn
the cash machine so many scattered receiptsentering the shop
the sudden cool
of air-conditioning
