The Wave
the wave
lifts
grey-white
foam
glittering and brief
its voice
music that spits to the heart
of the sky’s cathedral
the long
slow
curve of its back
breaks
powders to mist
ribbed
with sunlight
imagined
in the dance
of sound
it calls
calls
in the lift
and ease of its shape
still you must capture
the wave
open its blue mouth
in your heart’s
lift.
