staggering upright
head between legs
staggering upright
wakes on her side
afraid of stillness
waits for the kick
that will set her free
from the worst dream
- a bed full of blood,
a creature in its sac
waving to the camera.
She pushes, pushes,
but it won’t press flat,
let her stash it safe
in her new album.
