you can’t see out
through the fogged up window
the teacher almost says
“the crow on the flagpole
listens better ner youse”
but he says “look at page
46” instead.
in the schoolyard
the crow on the flagpole
is focused on being where
he is in an unfocused way
and he is not really thinking
about the teacher at all.
later at the lockers
the pupils jostle and curse
and the teacher in the yard
is scraping crow crap
from the windscreen
with his cheque card.
