George Jardine was born in Wallasey in 1920. In 1936 he became a student at the Wallasey School of Art which had only a Principal, an Assistant and a maximum of eight students. After later attending the Royal College of Art, Jardine became a tutor at the Liverpool College of Art, where he taught for forty years.
