The Next Science
And what? What?
What will happen next?
Perhaps the sun will poop out
a baby planet. Maybe an itinerant space-god
will stop by to enlighten and /or devour us.
Some random rainforest-critter sex act
may spawn a relentless new species of carnivore.
I just don't know. But I am sure
that a new science is en route. Think about it:
all the traffic, networks, frequencies,
bar codes, computer chips, surveillance cameras,
chemicals, tumors, dysfunctions,
bad strangers, politicians, secret agendas,
flesh-eating microbes, coital viruses,
so much, so fast, word after word,
image after image, life after life
after life. One must stay up all night
every night to figure the whole thing out -
to really come to grips with it.
To not be left behind.
To not feel so stupid.
So helpless.
And so alone.
