Editorial
So that’s it from Journal 6 of erbacce and Andy and I would like to thank all of you who have supported this journal and to update the rest of you as to the situation at present.
We produce this poetry journal at our own expense and although we are now selling reasonably well we are no where near breaking even... so we subsidise everything; the cost of the website, the postage and the journal itself. If you have enjoyed this or/and previous issues we would ask you to support us by taking out a subscription. Four journals (roughly quarterly) will be sent to anyone in the UK for just £10.00 including p& p, overseas it is still only $20.00 inclusive... payment to Andrew Taylor, 5 Farrell Close, Melling, Merseyside, L31 1BU, UK... cheques payable to Andrew Taylor but if you are taking out an overseas subscription then we’d appreciate cash, well concealed... alternately contact Andy direct at [email protected]
Do continue to send submissions via the website at www.erbacce.com Remember we are looking for poetry that is radical in content or in layout. We only publish quality poetry. We don’t get involved in all this rubbish about race, ability and gender or sexuality; if you are a black, disabled lesbian then we’ll publish your poetry but ONLY if it is high quality, we wont publish your poetry BECAUSE you are a woman, or BECAUSE you are black or BECAUSE of any criteria other than the quality of the work you send us. We firmly believe that women-only or black-only poetry journals are as patronising and as anachronistic as Women’s Own Magazines.
However; that said, we are considering following-up on the tremendous response we got to our anonymous erbacce (We get emails every day from people wanting copies of it but we sold out long ago; so if you have one, hang on to it, it could become a collectors’ edition). If the idea of striking at the vain-core of poetry writing appeals to you then please mention when you email poetry to us if you’d be willing to have it published in the anon erbacce. We will know who has written the poems so you’ll still get a subscribers’ free copy but otherwise no one else will know who-writes-what. This anonymous edition will come out late in 2006 so if you want to be part of the fun you’ve got time to either dig out your best work or maybe even write a special poem for the anonymous edition. Finally, Andy and I wish you all a very happy Chrimbo and New Year; keep scribbling... Alan
