Sometimes it does
and sometimes it won’t.
Prediction isn’t a lot of fun
when success is so uncertain.
Your friend is pretty one day,
not so pretty the next -
sometimes he is not even
your friend. Sometimes
this makes you happy, other
times you fall into sadness
like a leaf from a book
to the floor. You should
not be so emotional, you
know what will come of it.
Your friend doesn’t care much.
Some friends don’t care much
and are only people you know.
They have names, but
their names don’t appear here
because they are only
people you know. Your friends
will appear elsewhere,
and be easily recognisable.
They may be pretty. They
will certainly be beautiful.
