Introduction to Umbra
Umbra is a story told in poems - not a 'verse novel' - but a storyline or theme developed through a sequence of poems. (I anticipate about 50 poems; at present there are 38.)
Umbra is a young woman who believes she is the reincarnation of Barton's wife, and feels drawn to take her place. The wife has been long dead, and the daughter, Stella, feels threatened by Umbra who, she feels, has 'come to supersede' her in her father's affections.
