Pavanne for an impossible prince
We
agree upon
contradictions: alone in this: garden again
we talked about the fire of London and gods: again
it was defining: what was termed our love.
There
was no
joy in this separation: dexterity of dreams and
holding the nature of things: there was no water to
drown: the tears.
You
would not
do this in a cathedral so why encounter it here: she
was asking as the snow fell across our minds: forced to
speak of death for five minutes we knew we had to start
again.
