LISTENING TO AN APPLE.
It is a green
flame fueled
from cool sources.
It smoulders in the bowl.
Its sheer sides
gather mystery.
So I polish it
to face
the face there. Curve
of desire.
Carved out of air
by the first fire.
The house
is ablaze with it. Green.
As though God himself blazed
obscene in the naked apple.
