The statue of the Tamil poet Thiruvalluvar stands on a small
island off Kanyakumari, (Cape Comorin) South India. Kanyakumai is the Land’s End of India, where the Bay of Bengal meets the India Ocean and the Arabian Sea.
The statue was completed in 2000 and is exactly 133 feet high, to honour the poet’s 133 chapter work, Thirkkural.
