The Stuff of Dreams
Since you flounced out
my hands have had far too little to do.
I couldn't stand it.
I went to see the Adult Education people.
They said there was a taxidermy class.
I really fancied taxidermy.
We started pretty small.
Last week I was doing a tree shrew -
at least I think it was a tree shrew.
Things were said.
All the same I'm hoping
that on Wednesday the tutor's going to offer me
a bigger, meatier jobbie.
I expect more things are going to be said, though -
bigger, meatier things -
and the room'll turn misty
and I'll be put to sit on the sidelines
and I'll get showered with fluids and allsorts.
They may even be still warm
and it'll feel just like old times.
