Where is the individual
in trees, mountains, grass,
or the coming storm?
The meeting point is lost
and then recovered.
You are a ghost
unrevered, as if unborn,
leaving no breath,
no charm.
Erect a shrine
by the roadside,
not dissimilar to a mailbox,
a mark of where you died.
Open it,
inside are icons,
a private space,
symbolically aligned
for a destination
beyond harm.
52 kilometres
proclaims this road sign,
but leading where?
The world of collisions,
or the pure land
wished by pure minds?
52 kilometres before death?
You half expect
a sound
of thunder
or alarm.
