Hut on fowls legs,
since something died I sleep in the caravan
and often serenade her from the bunk.
Hut on fowls legs.
my songs are timorous and undignified.
Hut on fowls legs,
they praise in passing, the caravan’s comforts
and describe briefly a proposal to meet.
Hut on fowls legs,
somehow, travelling hopefully, she never arrives.
Hut on fowls legs,
she hides in her bed in the bungalow
considering the future’s residue.
Hut on fowls legs,
I see you, if only we could escape in you.
