In the bed department
Of a high priced superstore
I wait until I see a female shop assistant
And then ask her to help me
Pick out a new double bed
She leads me over
To a navy blue king-size
And asks if this is what I had in mind
I reply
That
Yes
It is
I lay down on the left side of the bed
Then
I ask her if she would mind
Laying down next to me
On the right side of the bed
Because I need to make sure
That it’s big enough for two people
She says
That
No
She doesn’t mind
Then
As she’s laying down beside me
And talking of how this mattress
Comes with a ten year
Guarantee
I roll over and put my left arm
Around her waist
Close my eyes
And wait for security
To come
And escort me out.
