Me And Wendy And My Mate The Plumber
A gem of a pint, slurping out the day into a night fight ego strung out to dry. Hailing down words of crap on top of moments of non stop bleep. Like the words we shrugged over shoulders lasting lines of drunken days into night fights burnt like the ego.
In hotel room. Fist swirl and beans of breakfast after a pavement pizza.
Shouting out words of wisdom to the train guard and then in the bar. Pints of gem at a table for three with a girl from California.
Some might hoot as this. But truth is subjective. And I want more.
Of a day like that one.
Pints of gem and a table for three. Me him and her. Writing stagnant numbers over a face of shallow light where the words marked a line in the dirt and with something she said I began to burn inside.
My head began to feel clear and my mouth could taste the bourbon afternoon; downed and trodden and slow and boring and edgy and sleek and laughter happened. Laughing brightly coiling around the room’s ridges parking on walls in with the bands that played down stairs and the city had eyes for me and I saw through them for a moment.
The city had to open a broken smile once again and let me through.
The madness happened later when.
Back home the day strung out and died.
