Unspoken Poetry
A bridge exists between my memory and storms... - Lara |
Unlock this text: fluid words scrawled Across heaven’s skies, where all is silent Even our lexical dreamscapes which may Represent the heart’s cold discipline Of need. Intimate tensions so dark cloak Ironic the image of a Goth-girl wielding A scythe, approaching my secret palace Where, in high, hollow rooms of marble, I write unspoken poetry; a transitional Language, an enigmatic script, a music Beyond all spheres, beyond the mountains Of engagement. No desire in the blood Can anticipate her lethal beauty disclosing Far constellations; metaphors not stars. Between harsh, short stanzas I gaze afar, Lost in imagination, seeking consolation As dead matter dissolves beneath her feet. We aspire to astral storms, far from this Monumental relic of a dying age, and My hand reaches vainly, feeling shadows Where empty space somehow opens out, A flower made of ice glimpsed before White pages turn so blank; before night Engulfs inspiration in despair and, veiled, She enters: her gleaming blade of truth A freezing glance to immobilise my hand And staring eye, this vision of a poet. |
