beneath mermath hair.
prisms of broken light
orbit us reflecting
dismembered limbs
of pine.
Pondering
the moist inky floor
ragged and compact
the way autumn should be.
We feel it here
Quiet-
away from those
trained lawns
cut off from trails
of weary child
home from school.
this space our silent pool
precious plot of palm
sinking our feet the earth
Building
fragments
of leaves and dirt
for Shrines and lost cats
honor the dead people.
