a tiny flame
filling up the room
unwritten poems
A passing car, faint voices, then hush. Night is slower, darker here
a perfect frame
for the rising moon
- avocado leaves
Through the conservatory, dots of the town below and further out in the Channel lights of ships like ghost stars where the horizon is lost. Brightly decked continental ferries, pinpricks of smaller craft, taking who knows whom, where...
candleglow
and through the glass
a winter moon
I recall the morning’s radio, hearing of tropical fish shipped to colder climes, picked off after stunning with cyanide, for fashionable folk seeking tranquillity. passing cloud
the moon reverts
to round

Tonight, a single dream
weed strewn
the old fishing boat
stranded in moonlight
