Doe in the Woods
I fell for a woman’s image, her real
flesh and blood. Sitting in the beer garden
two nights previous the last eclipse of
the millenium with the Santa-like
son of Neal Cassady. We were talking
with this nice couple for awhile when the
girl’s sister, Alex, tall, gorgeous, came to
us. Her carriage screamed ‘model’ and she looked
at me, many times during the three times
we met, like a doe who turns to one’s sound
crashing from the bracken to a thicket
in a wood grazing calmly and looks in
you with an uncautious curiousness
before fleeing in self-preservation.
