In the only photo I’ve seen,
you look so angry.
Yes, you were more than just your killing,
more than the injuries devised
by the killer
who propped your body, shop-dummy-style,
up in a woodyard between the stacks,
more than the injuries described
by the pathologist,
debated in court,
abridged in the papers
for the man-in-the-street.
If there’s rest to be had,
take it.
Rest for your soul.
Your body stays with us,
exposed,
and will not lie down.
