Thinking about death
Come on, admit it. I bet the majority of you,
In the last few days, have thought about your own death.
If you haven’t, you are now.
Hoping for a nice peaceful one, are we?
Like going to bed one night,
And not waking up again. (in your dreams)
As we all know, death isn’t like that.
A large proportion of us, will die,
In a very painful manner, from the dreaded C.
Others will be killed within
Walking distance of their own homes.
And you. Yes you.
Are we sitting comfortably within this
Cigar-shaped alloy, with wings?
Any number of things can go wrong with this mode of
transportation.
No turning back, once this baby starts failing.
And what about you? Packed like a sardine,
Upon this express train to London.
Has the overworked driver mistakenly gone through a red signal?
You’ve seen the pictures on T.V.,
Now feel the reality, of one man’s mistake.
It doesn’t matter what you do, achieve in life.
One day, death will come calling.
Sometimes, it may be just a warning,
Or maybe something a little more permanent.
