Here is no prose, here is not even English, but merely a flux of words/ are played, stories are told, poetry is read, and lantern slides are shown; its special aim is to deepen purity of thought among the girls/ and the last lonely wind that roars above us dies and all charities are overpast/ my thoughts just now lack grip and coherence and I feel that to attempt to write should aid in altering this/ some lover of an older day has carved in time-blurred lettering one word only/ tears of the glass-blower is a bubble of air blown into the centre of a mass of molten glass/ a kind of thought which aims at providing a quasi-rational ground for the indulgence of impulse/ & go up on a mt. the first decent day I’m not painting - haven’t any paints - don’t want them/ to draw some picture in detail of the really marvellous movement which since last July has covered England in new munitions factories and added enormously to the! individual emotions mirrored perfectly in a lucid supple periodic prose/ with asphyxiating and lachrymatory shells/ shattering and avalanching on the snow crust/ when the incredible folly of the world must be tabloided into wisdom/ never more shall I put on paper verse for the sake of a twisted conceit.
