Rash Angel
Pink curtains left astray,
Clothes scattered all around
She does what she can.
A bottle of perfume
With the scent-drifting
Around the gold trimming
Of a glass dew drop.
Dead flowers in a vase,
Droop onto a lampshade
That gives a soft glow;
A bottle of shampoo,
The label peeling off
A wandering look
At the half opened curtains;
She brushes her long dark hair.
Untold rings
Guarding silent words.
One that seems to have been
Recently worn, then clinked down.
An unfinished cigarette
With plum red lipstick marks
On the edge of the ashtray.
Love came at the door
Like a bunch of violets,
She did not expect
To feel this way.
When the buzzer sounds,
She switches off
From her tape, with a thud.
In a rush, accidentally she drops
Several keys on a keyring
With a red steel heart.
Wearing crushed ivory
She’s ready to go out.
