Allegedly, St Christopher was decanonised just prior to NASA’s mission to put man on the moon.
Come nineteen-sixty-nine all markers have
been clearly overstepped according to
authorities on such matters; for
the rest of us things just get slightly vaguer
by the second. Moves are taken with
a prefect’s covert censure (‘No one but
yourselves to blame’) and suddenly it’s in
the Countdown we now trust. Providence
has undergone an evolutionary
twist, the old unnested by the advent
of the new and fittest. Halos programmed
into obsolescence briefly view
their doppelganger spreading due to its
approximated glow assuming that
ubiquity held by the household icon.
Journeyers are comforted and kitted out
with dates and numbers as indulgences
to travel back and forth along
communication lines, transferred through those
tracks of light from station to station.
