Father's Day and Water
One day I had to make a choice
That day was Father's Day
Would I go to drink and eat
Or go to Church and pray
I felt that what I needed more
Was Prayer and some Healing
So I made my way to Church
Though hungry I was feeling
The Priest was a kind hearted man
And kind the words he said
It was how I felt in my heart
And silently I prayed
The hunger did consume me
A chicken would taste fine
But oh, Surprise, there came some food
From the Lord Divine
The Priest did tell me everything
What I needed to hear
That with the Lord beside me
I must have no fear
There are some people out there
Who have much less than I
Without fresh drinking water
And food they have to die
Oh Lord, this must not happen
I want to make a change
Sure there must be something
That I can arrange
For the people who are poor
And have to walk a mile
For some water that is fresh
I’ll do something worthwhile
God knows I'm not rich myself
Blessed be he who is
But I'll donate some money
To bring the people bliss
I can't donate a fortune
But will give small amounts
It's not about how much you give
For every penny counts
Do not waste the water
When you brush your teeth
Thank the Lord for every drop
And think of Love and Peace
The Lord has given me some drink
And given me some food
The people made me welcome
And happy was my mood
Now I walk in peace and calm
My heart does swell with pride
I have no fear because I know
The Lord walks by my side
If people will forgive me
I'll try to mend my ways
God knows what I say is true
To the Lord I pray
Water is for everyone
Don't think it's just for you
Donate some pounds to Africa
And pray my wish comes true
