I'm sorry too
Snow came and stayed heavy all day.
Roads to the city were impossible.
She knew she couldn’t
under such conditions
ask me to leave.
She set conditions for me to stay
one more night.
First thing next morning,
she served me green tea
with tangerines
and sunflower seeds.
Muffins and pies baked in the oven.
Lamb stew simmered in a cast iron pot.
She spoke only to say she was sorry.
The finish on her face said the rest.
I left.
My wish
impossible!
Ten years have passed.
I still look back.
