"Keep 'em coming," urges one delighted reader, renewing his subscription, "The one I look forward to," enthuses another. Sentiments that fairly sum up reactions we have had to Brando's Hat. Our thanks to all who have written to us and supported us, our readers, subscribers, and especially our contributors who have made our first year of magazine publishing such an enjoyable and exciting one, and Brando's Hat a "must read" for all who enjoy and are excited by modern poetry.
Again, we bring you an excellent and varied selection of individual poems and sequences. Of necessity, because we are looking for groups of achieved work or sustained longer poems, many of our contributors will have published widely - even be quite famous - but we are also committed to seeking out exciting new talent and, in this Issue, bring you a small selection from Matthew Curry who has had little published previously and three remarkably assured poems from Ruth Hite who was 17 when she submitted them.
So, please keep those poems coming. We place no restrictions on content or style. If it excites us we'll publish it, but we are looking for a representative body of work, not just one short poem; and remember this is the ideal location for your sequence, part sequence or longer poem, but no book-length poems please.
Sadly, with this Issue, we bid goodbye to Emma-Jane Arkady who joined the editorial team at the planning for Brando's Hat. Her expertise, energy and commitment have been invaluable and have made an enormous contribution to the magazine's success, for which we are deeply grateful. We are extremely sorry to lose her and wish her well.
