Toon Tellegen
Untitled (Translation)
A man searched for happiness,
couldn't find it anywhere,
convinced himself that it did exist
and that he was sure of that,
slammed his two fists against his floor:
'I am sure of it!'
People stood on their toes,
peeked in through his windows, through his net curtains,
at him, on his floor, with his two fists...
and they walked away, stumbled, fell,
managed to get up and cried,
with flags, with bloody hands:
'It exists! It exists!'
