Andrzej Klimowski was born in London in 1949. His father was an officer in the Polish resistance during the war. He studied at St Martins, then went to Warsaw to the Academy of Fine Art. He has an international reputation as a poster and jacket designer and has experimented with films, political satire and all forms of graphic design. He is senior tutor in illustration at the Royal College of Art in London.
We print here a second selection from Klimowski’s ‘bizarre picture-novel, entirely without words’, which is coming out from Faber in March this year. A first selection appeared in Ambit 166, pages 15-20.
A Klimowski retrospective exhibition opened at the National Theatre in December 2001 and is due to finish in February 2002.
